At Windwhirl Border Collies, our dedication extends far beyond the day you bring your new puppy home. As passionate breeders and advocates for the health and well-being of our Border Collies, we strive to provide you with a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted companion. While we take every precaution to ensure the best start in life, factors such as genetics, nutrition, exercise, and overall care are ultimately influenced by you, the puppy’s new family.
Though we cannot guarantee that your puppy will never face health challenges, we guarantee our unwavering support and will do everything possible to help ensure your new family member’s ongoing health and happiness.
In the unlikely event that your puppy passes away within two years of birth due to a genetic condition, or is diagnosed with a congenital or hereditary disorder that significantly affects their health, we will replace your puppy with another of equal value at no additional cost. A licensed veterinarian must certify the cause of death or diagnosis.
For puppies who live beyond two years but pass due to genetic causes, we will provide a credit of 70% of the original purchase price toward a replacement puppy of equivalent value. Veterinary certification is required.
The ongoing health of your Border Collie depends greatly on your care. To support this, we ask that you:
Have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 2 business days of arrival and share a copy of the examination report with us.
Follow all recommended vaccinations, deworming, and routine veterinary care. Do not vaccinate your puppy within the first 10 days after bringing them home unless advised by your veterinarian.
Continue regular veterinary exams and health maintenance as your puppy grows, at least through 16 weeks of age or as recommended by your veterinarian.
Temperament, size, weight, color, markings, or breeding potential.
Conditions related to obesity or breed-specific concerns like hip dysplasia caused by improper care.
Costs associated with spaying/neutering, including cryptorchidism (undescended testes).
Issues arising from failure to provide timely vaccinations or routine veterinary care.
All Windwhirl Border Collie puppies undergo a comprehensive veterinary health check by our licensed veterinarian before leaving our care. This exam includes:
Cardiovascular health
Skin and coat condition
Eyes, mouth, teeth, and gums
Musculoskeletal and respiratory health
Ears, urogenital, and gastrointestinal systems
A detailed health report is provided at the time of shipping to assure you that your puppy is in excellent condition. If any significant health concerns arise, the puppy will not be shipped until fully healthy.
